Our single day programme helps customers prepare for release by giving them an understanding of community based support they can receive, where and how they can get this support and how it can help them become a full member of society. The programme is highly flexible and can be delivered in a group workshop setting, one-to-one or a mixture of both. It can also be run in conjunction with our community programmes as part of a through the gate service. The day covers:
Details of support agencies for:
• Securing stable accommodation.
• Health and wellbeing;
• Moving towards and into sustainable employment.
Practical advice such as:
• How to register with a GP/dentist;
• How to open a bank account;
• Obtaining the correct documentation for housing and employment.
Employability advice:
• The current labour market;
• What employers are looking for;
• How to secure employment including networking, job search, CVs and interviews;
• Making a positive disclosure;
• Risk and safeguarding.
The day will be informal and will include video clips where agencies can introduce their services. These will also include testimonials from ex-offenders who talk through how their circumstances have been improved with the right support.

Post release
Length: 6 weeks (plus 13 weeks of employer engagement and in work support)
Motiv-8sw provides 6 week employability programmes for people with experience of the criminal justice and probation services including high risk MAPPA, sex offenders and low/medium risk ex-offenders. These sessions are delivered by highly skilled performance coaches and we have an exceptional reputation of moving some of the most disenfranchised into employment. Our programmes are focused on the individual and tailored to their needs and objectives. The post release programme offers the following:
• High intensity one-to-one coaching that is integrated into a 4 stage programme (Preparing for Work, Identifying Suitable Work, Winning Work, Sustaining Work)
• It includes 13 weeks of in-work support; employer engagement and wrap around support
• The programme is delivered using a blended and flexible approach using virtual platforms and face to face sessions
• Based on motivational interviewing our Performance Coaches help people develop a positive mindset through building a trusting relationship, challenging comfort zones with care and empowering the customer to enable them to take ownership and accountability
• People are helped to build confidence, resilience and self-esteem
• Robust assessment identifies principle barriers and informs SMART actions plans that are regularly reviewed, tailored and are future focused
