From a tent to a job
The challenge
CP was homeless and living in a tent with no Job. He had next to no food to live on every day, and his family had broken down, leaving him with nowhere to go for support mentally or physically. He was also having trouble getting into his Home seekers to bid on places. He felt helpless, hopeless and lost in life. He had no purpose or reason to get up in the morning and he just did not know which way to turn.
What we did
CP was referred to Motiv-8 for help and he was seen straight away by two performance coaches. CP then undertook a one to one session with one of the coaches, where time was taken to fully understand CP’s situation, get to know him as a person and find out what he wanted from life. This resulted in them finding together three potential opportunities that suited CP. Further help was given by one of the coaches where they spoke directly to a potential employer and within a week CP had an interview.
The outcome
This is how CP described his experience; “I am now healthy and extremely happy with the job that I have. I have a girlfriend who has stuck by me through it all and her parents are very kind and loving to me. I have come such a long way within this last month by having Motiv-8 providing me with funding and non-stop help. they’ve checked up on me since I have met them and I enjoy that. I can honestly say I am in a much better place mentally”.
“Every single thing that these guys have done for me has made me progress further into where I need to be. They’ve done everything they possibly could for me and I honestly can’t appreciate it enough. My job coach in the JCP is over the moon. She told me that she has been working with the JCP for 33 years and she has never seen such a great impact on a customer and will be writing to the head of JCP!”
