A bright and exciting future
The challenge
SN had been unemployed on universal credit for about 10 months. All previous employment was within the hospitality industry and with the impact of the global pandemic, she found herself stuck without the normal job opportunities and restricted to a work-from-home environment. The longer she was unemployed, the more she lost confidence in herself and the direction she wanted to go in career-wise.
What we did
SN found her obstacles focused mainly around career uncertainty and the physical limitations of working from home. Her coach tailored the sessions to what she needed as an individual, which she found to be incredibly beneficial. The coach encouraged SN to explore her existing strengths and interests and she was given the time, space and structure to realise what she wanted and allow her to recognize her existing capabilities to achieve her goals. After self-discovery, the 1-2-1 sessions moved to discussing potential career routes and preparing SN for employment. SN stated how grateful she is for the support she received, saying; “It was instrumental in giving me the confidence to pursue what I wanted”. The programme also offered SN the opportunity to access the i3 profile which helped her to gain a better understanding of her personality strengths and she has used this effectively to move forward positively.
The outcome
SN completed the programme and moved immediately into employment and she is very excited about the new career chapter ahead of her.
