I have always been interested in strategy and leadership and have worked at the highest levels in Whitehall during my 32 years in the Royal Marines. Upon retirement in 2009 I initially founded Sampson Hall, an organisation that specialises in leadership, strategy and executive coaching. In 2013 Motiv-8 was spawned in the North East, to deliver ready for work programmes to those most disengaged and disenfranchised. In Motiv-8 I now focus all my experience in helping others to better their lives and take their place in society.

A keen sportsman and coach I watch cricket, rugby and football when not walking my three dogs or digging my allotment. With my wife Sandra we have five grown up children and spending time with family brings me the greatest pleasure.
